THERMODRILL is a European project funded by the European Commission in the framework of the H2020 program. Coordinated by the University of Leoben, this project aims to develop a new drilling technique associating a classic drilling tool with a jetting technique.
This technology‘s purpose is a faster drilling in hard and crystalline rocks as granite. This project is multidisciplinary and gathers 9 partners both academical and industrial.
ÉS-Géothermie selected several rock samples from the Soultz-sous-Forêts geothermal site and Upper Rhine quarries, for experimental studies. ÉS-Géothermie coordinates the work team responsible of the drilling tool prototype.
More than a dozen references and ongoing projects in France and abroad.
